Pros:
✦ Literally every versatile feature. You can create a website, logo, and posts for social media.
✦ Although you have the option to pay, you can get a hella decent website without offering a single cent.
✦ I like how it can change from a simple ADI so you don't get overwhelmed by the Editor. The ADI allows you to create a layout using templates, and you can personalise it later on with the drag & drop feature in Editor.
✦ I love how it doesn't limit transparent images! and has the option to erase backgrounds automatically. You can even add moving images in the background. It's extremely media-friendly. You can truly play God of your website, like it's a large creative sandbox.
✦ It's prepared for both PC and Mobile viewers on your website, alongside the Wix App for the phone. So you can edit both versions, and they don't interfere! My experience with manoeuvring between the two views was smooth.
✦ I cannot praise the endless customisation choices this website gives. You can change colours, icons, animations, background, pages, features, etc!! As someone who's extremely into personalisation; this felt limitless. I worked a whole day on my site!
✦ I adore the notification feature on the wix app! You can message people. I can see who comes in, where they're from, and their email. This sounds invasive, perhaps, but it is a God-Send gift security measure for our discord server. The bots applied to our Discord Server can only report so much, so this website also keeping track? Incredible.
✦ You can sign in your friends as collaborators :)
Cons:
✪ I would never recommend diving headfirst into WIX's Editor. It's overwhelming, and forces you to understand how you want your website structured. Your website could end up looking sloppy. and even then, you have to get used to the terms and labels wix defines its many, many buttons.
✪ You have to sign-in or make an account just to comment.
✪ I had a problem with the RSVP button. I didn't want that to be an option, and I wanted the buttons to lead to a link instead; but it isn't changeable. Though, after some time I was able to work around it. I'm still weighing on whether or not I'm willing to disable the buttons. Although... someone did accidentally hand me their email... and I enjoyed that.
✪ You have to pay to get a domain. This isn't too bad though. I can only wistfully imagine the day where the domain name was sleek and Trashcanity-owned.
✪ I found that making Pages on my website was a bit hard to navigate, and difficult for me to add. It was slower than the rest of the process (because of the loading, and I had to move back and forth). Luckily, that's an optional feature, so you don't have to face it.
✪ The mobile version of my website is severely less impressive & put-together. The animations did not show up, and some buttons weren't as clear or effective in their new positions.
✪ Honestly, I'm not the biggest fan of the messaging system, because it is a bit slow; but it does its job. Though, I do recommend using a proper messaging app if you plan on a long or quick conversation.
✪ No more than one person can be editing the website at the same time. This makes sense and all, but you can't make changes while your co-worker is moving things around.
✪ Imagine if your website could play music. You could straight up play All Star on repeat. How does that make you feel?
Hey! I'm Aqi from Sep 2021, A little over a year later! I just wanted to say that i reread my entire review, and found it well put-together :> Which is a bit narcissistic of me to say; but you can tell I was passionate about Wix! And it wasn't cringe, believe it or not! So thank you Mr.Yudi for making this my computer assignment, because this review is surprisingly still applicable.🍒
